Senator Shehu Sani has described Saturday attacks on the Federal Airports Authority quarters in Kaduna as tragic.
Sani also expressed concerns about the proximity of the crime scene to the airport security formations and the Defence Academy as raising questions.
TheFact Nigeria observed that earlier reports stated that gun-weilding bandits attacked the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria quarters in Kaduna, abducting about nine persons.
On his verified Twitter handle, @ShehuSani wrote: “The attacks on the Federal Airport Quaters Kaduna and the kidnapping of scores of people is tragic and unfortunate. The proximity of the scene of the crime to the Airport, security formations and the Defence academy, raises questions. The terror is on the edges of our city.”
The abductees were reported to have included a whole family of six, a housewife and her two children.
It was gathered that the bandits gained access to the quarters through the airport runway at about 12.30 am on Saturday.
The incident was said to have lasted for hours as military personnel engaged the bandits, but sadly the attackers had their way, taking away the innocent victims.
Although this is the first time the FAAN quarters is coming under attack despite growing security concerns in the state, the bandits allegedly went away on motorcycles with their abductees.
