COVID-19: We’ll Not Use Any Herbal Medicines without Scientific verification -Buhari

Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari has declared that the country will not use any herbal or traditional medicines without statutory regulation for thorough scientific verification.

Buhari made the declaration today, Saturday, May 16, 2020 on his official Twitter handle.

Recall, the President earlier today, Saturday received herbal formulation against the Covid-19 pandemic from Madagascar.

He said, “my position regarding all herbal or traditional medicines is that any such formulations should be sent to the statutory regulators for thorough scientific verification.

“We will not put anything to use in Nigeria without the endorsement of our regulatory institutions,” he said.
