It said pupils and teachers welcomed the gesture with excitement, describing it as a major boost to the school’s facilities.

According to the statement, the donation falls under Dangote Cement’s wider Social Investment Programme, which covers education, healthcare, infrastructure development and economic empowerment in the communities where it operates.

Group Head of Social Performance, Mr. Wakeel Olayiwola, was quoted in the statement as saying that the intervention reflects the company’s commitment to supporting communities and complementing government efforts in key areas of development.

He explained that its community investments go beyond manufacturing and are designed to promote sustainable development.

“At Dangote, we continuously seek opportunities to support education, healthcare, infrastructure development and economic empowerment. These interventions reflect our belief that thriving communities are essential to sustainable growth,” he said.

Olayiwola said all communities connected to the company’s operations are important stakeholders in its development agenda.

He urged the pupils to take their studies seriously, describing education as a vital tool for personal growth and future success, and encouraged them to make the most of the opportunities available to them.

Receiving the items, the Head Teacher of the school, Mrs. Ayoku Fatima Adenike, thanked the company for responding positively to the school’s request. She said the support had excited pupils and staff and significantly improved teaching and learning facilities.

She noted the important role of partnerships between schools and responsible corporate organisations in tackling infrastructural challenges, improving learning outcomes and creating better opportunities for young people.

“We are sincerely grateful to Dangote Cement for this kind gesture. What once seemed like a dream has become a reality today. This support demonstrates the company’s commitment to education and the well-being of our children,” she said.

Adenike added that the furniture and materials would improve classroom comfort and the overall learning experience. She prayed for the company’s continued success and appealed for sustained collaboration to meet other needs of the school.

The Head of Clinker Exports and Transport at Dangote Cement, Engineer Boluwarin Aladeniyi, described the donation as an investment in the children’s future and a sign of confidence in their potential. He advised the pupils to remain disciplined, respect their teachers and parents, and strive for excellence.

“The facilities being presented today are more than physical assets. They are a reminder that organisations and individuals believe in your abilities and are committed to helping you succeed,” he said.

Aladeniyi formally handed the items over to the school management, expressing confidence that they would be well maintained and used for the benefit of current and future pupils.

He said the project offered another opportunity for the company to contribute to grassroots education while strengthening its relationship with host communities.

The initiative, the company said, reflects its belief that investing in children and educational infrastructure is key to building stronger, more resilient and sustainable communities.
