The newly posted Commissioner of Police, Kebbi state Police Command, CP Bello Sani, has charged Tactical commanders, Area Commanders and DPOs to devise proactive measures in checkmating crimes in the state.
The CP gave the charge on Thursday, following a meeting with the commanders at the state headquarters, Gwadangaji, Birnin Kebbi, the Kebbi state capital, in his determination to improve on the already existing security architecture and ensure peaceful atmosphere in the state.
TheFact Daily reported that CP Sani, on Monday, 24th June assumed duty as the 37th police chief in the state taking over from AIG Chris Aimionowane, who has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police and posted to Force CID Abuja, as AIG Interpol.
CP Sani also pushed for visibility policing, rigorous patrols, synergy with other security agencies, community oriented policing, welfare of their men, and compliance with fundamental rights and relevant laws while discharging their responsibilities in their respective areas.
He further solicited their support and cooperation in ensuring conducive atmosphere in Kebbi State, as he cannot do it alone.
CP Sani, together with his management team, also decorated two Chief Superintendents of Police with their new rank of Assistant Commissioners of Police.
The decorated officers, ACP Bashir M. Tukur and ACP Sanusi Adamu, were former DPOs of the Illo and Kamba divisions respectively. They are among those who had been recommended for promotion by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and whose promotions were subsequently approved by the Police Service Commission (PSC).
While congratulating the newly promoted ACPs on behalf of the IGP, CP Sani charged them to be more committed in the discharge of their duty, and to
consider their promotion to their new rank as recognition of their hard work and dedication to duty, as well as motivation and additional responsibility.
He equally advised them to be more disciplined and loyal to their superiors.
