The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has reportedly arrested Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, Director General of the fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) in Osun State, barely six hours after a Federal High Court in Abuja ordered his immediate arrest.
Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja, issued a bench warrant for Adeyemi’s arrest following an oral application made by the police lawyer and prosecutor, Wisdom Madaki.
Adeyemi has been scheduled to take his plea on an eight-count charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, bordering on forgery, fraud, and impersonation. The matter was listed as No. 12 on the court’s cause list for the day.
However, the defendant failed to appear for his arraignment. A lawyer, who identified himself as Genesis Francis, announced his appearance on his behalf when the case was called.
The prosecution counsel told the court that this was not the first time Adeniyi had failed to show up for trial.
“My lord, this is the fifth time this case is coming up, and all the adjournments have been at the instance of the defendant,” Madaki told the court.
Citing Section 394 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015, the prosecution counsel urged the court to issue a warrant for Adeniyi’s arrest, a request the judge granted.
