Group Launches Nigeria’s First Competitive Drone- Soccer League For Students

The Naija Drone Soccer League (NDSL) has announced the official launch of Nigeria’s first-ever competitive drone soccer league for senior secondary school students Athletes, marking a groundbreaking step in the integration of e-sports, technology, and education in the country.
Operations Manager of the league, Alex Orkuma announced this in a statement on Wednesday.
Orkuma said the NDSL introduces an innovative platform where STEM education meets competitive sport, using drone- soccer as a tool to equip young Nigerians with future-ready skills in Aerospace, Aeronautics, Aviation technology, engineering, robotics teamwork, and strategic thinking. This initiative is designed to complement innovative classrooms into hubs of innovation while creating an exciting national sports ecosystem for students.
As the world rapidly shifts toward technology-driven economies, the NDSL provides Nigerian students with hands-on exposure to emerging technologies in a structured, competitive environment that nurtures creativity, problem-solving, and leadership.
Drone-soccer is more than a sport, it is a training ground for the future. Through this league, the group is building a generation of innovators who will shape Nigeria’s future in technology, aviation, and engineering while the NDSL would provide drone-soccer kits, training, and technical support.
The Naija Drone-Soccer League is inviting senior secondary schools across Nigeria to register and participate in its inaugural season. Early participating schools will benefit from priority onboarding, technical support, and national visibility in this pioneering league.
The NDSL also welcomes stakeholders, corporate organizations, and development partners to support this transformative initiative.
