Among the offerings are the GT Patriot Account, which provides waived banking charges and concessionary lending rates for military personnel, and GT Pensions Management services designed to optimise Retirement Savings Accounts and enhance the long-term financial security of soldiers.

He added that the bank also provides dedicated trade desks for processing Letters of Credit (LCs) to facilitate defence procurement, secure digital platforms for salary administration and contractor payments, as well as institutional funds management solutions for government agencies.

Liman commended the Nigerian Army for its unwavering commitment to defending Nigeria’s sovereignty and protecting the lives and property of citizens, assuring the Service of GTBank’s continued support through innovative financial solutions.

Responding, the Chief of Army Staff reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to leveraging strategic public-private partnerships to improve personnel welfare, strengthen institutional resilience and enhance operational effectiveness.

Lieutenant General Shaibu described GTBank as a dependable institutional partner whose innovative financial services have complemented the Army’s transformation agenda by promoting financial inclusion, improving administrative efficiency and enhancing troop welfare.

He noted that the Presidential approval for increased recruitment and the ongoing expansion of the Nigerian Army require a responsive, technology-driven banking system capable of delivering seamless financial services to personnel across formations nationwide.

The COAS also urged the bank to broaden its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives to include support for wounded-in-action personnel, widows and orphans of fallen soldiers in line with the Nigerian Army’s Soldier First welfare philosophy.

He further requested the installation of Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) in newly established and remote military barracks to improve access to banking services, reduce unnecessary troop movement and support operational readiness.

The meeting underscored the growing collaboration between the Nigerian Army and GTBank aimed at strengthening troop welfare through innovative financial services and strategic institutional partnerships.
