Interior Minister Inspects Ongoing E-Gate Installation At Abuja Airport

The Minister of Interior, Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has visited the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja, to inspect the ongoing installation of E-Gate facilities.

Tunji-Ojo, who led a delegation from the Ministry on Friday, 19th April 2024, also had the opportunity of test running the facilities, after which he expressed satisfaction with the progress of work.

TheFact recalls that the Minister had in February when the E-Gates were launched, said the era of unnecessary delay of returning passengers due to manual scanning by immigration officers would be a thing of the past by the time the project comes to fruition.

The technology is a scanner that is equipped with all the modern facilities required to scan passengers who just came into the country via the airports easier and faster without the usual delay.

Upon completion across all the five (5) International Airports in the country, the E-gates will reduce human contact.
