JAMB Releases 2024 UTME Results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede announced the results at a press conference on Monday in Abuja.
TheFact Daily recalls that the UTME held from Friday, 19th to 26th April, 2024, in 118 examination towns in 774 centres.
Oloyede said, “for the 2024 UTME, 1,989,668 candidates registered including those who registered at foreign centres.
“Out of a total of 1,989,668 registered candidates, 80, 810 were absent. A total of 1, 904, 189 sat the UTME within the six days of the examination”.
He disclosed that, “the Board was releasing the results of 1, 842, 464 candidates while 64, 624 results were under investigation for reasons of:
Under Investigation on Verification (2, 896), Procedural Investigation of Candidates (4, 594), Centre Based Investigation (57, 056) in 18 Centres: Edo 12; Akwa Ibom 3; Delta 2 and Kwara 1;
Alleged Examination Misconduct (78)”.
He said the number of candidates who scored 300 and above were
8,401, representing 0.5 % of the total number.
Those who scored 250 and above were
77,070 representing 4.2%. 439,974 scored 200 and above while 1,402,490 scored below 200.
The JAMB Registrar stated that, in the course of the examination, 25 sessions experienced hiccups of disrupting only 150 of the total 9, 156 sessions in 95 of the 774 centres.
He explained that the affected sessions were promptly rescheduled. Only one centre, Makama School of Technology, Old Motor Park, Along FCCE (T) Road, Bichi, Kano State, was delisted for substandard performance.
Prof. Oloyede also informed that more females sat for the examination this year compared to previous years; a total of 1, 007, 275 females representing 50.6% while 982, 393 males representing 49.4% wrote the examination.
He noted that there was a 36.2% increase in the enrolment of People Living With Disabilities (PLWDs) as compared to the previous year. A total of 3,164 PLWDs sat for the examination this year.
Speaking on how candidates can check their results, Oloyede said, “Candidates are advised to use the phone numbers they used to register to text RESULT to 55019/66019. There is no need to approach any CBT centre or cybercafé to check results”.
He added that candidates could start checking their results as from 7am on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.
