Just In: NLC, TUC Suspend Nationwide Strike

Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) have called off the ongoing nationwide strike.

The National Executive Council (NEC) of the NLC and the TUC suspended the industrial action following the intervention of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu earlier today.

NEC said, “arising from the just concluded joint NLC,TUC NEC session and in considering the intervention of the Fed Govt through the National Security Adviser at a meeting held today to address all issues raised by Labour including the brutalisation of the N L C President, the Joint NEC in session has decided to suspend the strike action as a mark of respect to the Security Adviser with effect from 12 midnight today.

“Members are to resume work tomorrow 16th of November 2023.The leadership of Rattawu appreciates you all for your commitment in the struggle .A formal letter suspending the strike action will be issued tomorrow. Solidarity for ever”, it said.
