Kano Governor Promotes 20,542 Teachers, Non-teaching Staff

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has approved the promotion of 20,542 primary and junior secondary school teachers and non-teaching staff for the 2023 and 2024 sessions.

The Deputy Director, Public Relations of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Balarabe Jazuli announced the development in a statement issued on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

According to the statement, Kano SUBEB Chairman, Yusuf Kabir announced this during a meeting with education secretaries, heads of personnel and EMIS officers held at SBMC Hall SUBEB headquarters in Kano on Monday.

Yusuf directed the immediate implementation of the promotion to encourage the staff:

“The Governor directed the board to implement the promotion immediately in order to ensure that they are paid immediately”, he said.

He further urged the beneficiaries to rededicate themselves to their duties and expressed gratitude to Governor Yusuf for prioritising education in the state.

The SUBEB Chairman also urged Community leaders, Islamic clerics, and related organisations to sensitise parents on the importance of enrolling their children in school.
