Kano Govt Introduces Car Loan For Primary, Secondary School Teachers

The Executive Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf has approved the disbursement of vehicles to primary and secondary school teachers in the state under a special loan scheme.

This is according to a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Tofa on Tuesday.

Tofa explained that the initiative would be funded with ₦200 million and was part of a broader agenda to improve the welfare of public school teachers.

“Providing vehicles for our teachers is a strategic step toward improving their working conditions and encouraging dedication to duty,” the statement said.

The announcement was made during the official flag-off of instructional material distribution to public schools.

Governor Yusuf described teachers as the foundation of national development and reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting them through various welfare and infrastructure programmes.

“Teachers are the backbone of every progressive society. Their welfare is non-negotiable if we must achieve quality education for our children,” he said.

He further informed that the distribution of vehicles was just one of several teacher-centered policies under his education reform plan.

In addition to the ₦200 million vehicle loan scheme, the state government disclosed that it had spent ₦2 billion on the procurement of instructional materials recently distributed to public schools, reaffirming its resolve to improve learning conditions across Kano.
