Kano Police Arrest Armed Robbers, Drug Dealers, In Clearance Operation
No fewer than 59 suspects have been arrested by Police operatives in Kano State, for offences ranging from armed robbery and theft to dealings in illicit drugs.
According to a statement credited to the Spokesperson of the Kano State Police Command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the arrests were made in the course of clearance operations carried out by the police, in line with the directives and guidance of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali Usman Baba on Community-based policing and Operation Puff Adder, as well as efforts to rid the State of all forms of crimes and criminality.
TheFact Nigeria reports that all the suspects of various addresses within Kano Metropolitan were arrested with dangerous weapons, robbed and stolen properties and large quantity of illicit drugs.
The State’s Police Chief, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, sent out a strong message and warned criminals and drug dealers to desist from their criminal acts or leave the State, as they will certainly face the full wrath if the law if and when caught.
CP Dikko, while thanking the people of Kano State for their continuous support and cooperation, urged residents to pray for the State and the nation, as well as report incidences to the nearest Police Station rather than take laws into their hands.
He assured that rigorous patrol and raids of criminals’ hideouts and black spots will continue throughout the State, as the Command will sustain the tempo in ensuring safety of lives and properties.
