Keyamo Appointed Chairman Banjul Accord Group

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Banjul Accord Group (BAG).

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) disclosed this on Thursday via their verified X handle.

According to the NCAA, Keyamo’s appointment is in recognition of his innovation policies and also, reinforcing Nigeria’s leading role in improving air travel across West Africa.

The group is comprises of Seven West African States that signed the BANJUL ACCORD on 29th January, 2004.

It was founded to promote safe, efficient use and development of civil aviation within the Member States.

The States are Cabo Verde, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone.

Keyamo takes over the Chairmanship of the Council of Ministers from the Minister of Transport and Aviation, Republic of Sierra Leone, Alhaji Fandey Turay.

This appointment highlights Nigeria’s commitment to enhancing the safety, unity, and affordability of air travel in the region.
