Kwara Police Uncover Two Female Corpses Buried In Doctor’s Office
Detectives from the Kwara State Police Command have uncovered bodies of two missing ladies concealed in the office of the Chief Medical Director of Kaiama General Hospital in Kaiama Local Government Area of the State.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Kwara Command, Okasanmi Ajayi, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.
TheFact Daily recalls that the suspect, Dr. Adio Adebowale, an indegene of Offa LGA in Kwara State, was arrested for alledgedly killing a cab driver, one Emmanuel Yobo Agbovinuere, in Benin City, Edo State, and dumping the corpse at Otofure community on the Benin-Lagos highway, before absconding with the deceased’s vehicle.
According to Ajayi, Dr. Adebowale also confessed to killing his girlfriend, one Ifeoluwa, who was declared missing in Tanke area of Ilorin sometime in 2021
The latest gruesome discovery was made after the newly posted Police Commissioner in the State, CP Paul Odama, ordered a high powered investigation into the case of a missing woman identified as Nofisat Halidu.
During the investigation, the suspect led the team to the hospital where his office was forced open.
“A cursory look at the office presented a suspicious sight of freshly cemented floor tiles. Curiously the tiles were broken and a gory sight welcomed the detectives. Behold, lying inside the shallow grave was a decomposing carcass of an unidentified female”, Ajayi said.
Further search of the office led to the opening of a trash can where another female corpse was discovered, and later identified as that of the missing Nofisat Halidu.
Other items recovered in the detained doctor’s office include 2 female handbags in the doctor’s drawer, with 2 mobile handsets found in one of the handbags, a female wig, a veil and female panties.
In furtherance of the investigation, Ajayi said, the Kwara Police Chief had contacted his Edo State counterpart requesting the release of the suspect to the Kwara State Police Command to answer some questions regarding the discoveries in his office.
While emphatically declaring that crimes and criminality would no longer be taken with levity, CP Odama advised criminal elements to pack their bags and baggages and relocate from Kwara State as there was a new sheriff in town.
“Kwara State would not contain both criminals and law abiding citizens in his time as Commissioner of Police”, Ajayi’s statement said.
