NYSC Confirms Sack Of DG
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has confirmed the sack of its 18th Director General, Brig. Gen. Muhammad Kaku Fadah.
A source in the Scheme confirmed the news of his sack on Friday, November 18, 2022 via a text message.
President Muhammadu Buhari had on Thursday, November 17, 2022 approved the immediate removal of Brig. Gen. Fadah.
Consequent upon this, Brigadier-General M.K Fadah is to hand over to the most senior civil servant in the organisation, who is to act as Director General in the interim.
According to online platforms who broke news of the sack yesterday, “very reliable sources said the removal is not unconnected with the glaring incompetence of the Director General in the 6 months since he took over”.
Also, The Nation newspaper reached out to the Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Sunday Dare asking, “Honourable Minister, please is it true that the President has approved the sack of the NYSC DG?” to which he replied, “yes” on Friday morning.
It further said, although he would not speak much on the development, another source within the Presidency said there were signs Fadah might not last in office, going by reservations expressed by the Minister about his attitude.
“The Minister of sports had cause to complain about the attitude of the DG to some big men. I knew he was not going to last,” the source hinted.
