Ogun Road Crash Leaves Two Dead, 13 Injured

Two people have died in a road crash along the Sagamu/ Ijebuode Expressway, while 13 others were injured in the accident that happened after J3 Junction.

According to the Ogun Chief Routes Commander and Public Education Officer of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) Florence Okpe, in a statement, the crash happened around noon on Saturday, 13 April, 2024.

Two vehicles – a Toyota Hiace bus belonging to Iyare Motors and a truck – were involved in the accident, which is suspected to have been caused by excessive speed as the bus driver rammed into a stationary truck parked on a hard shoulder of the road from the rear.

In Okpe’s words, “the fatal crash occurred at about 12:10hrs on Sagamu-Ijebu-ode Section of the expressway after the J3 junction.Thirteen people sustained injuries and 2 persons were recorded dead from the crash”.

She added that those wounded have been hospitalised and the corpses of the dead victims deposited in the morgue.
