Plane Crashes With 62 Persons Onboard In Brazil

A plane belonging to Voepass airline and having 62 persons onboard crashed in São Paulo, Brazil.

The Voepass airline corroborated the news in a statement issued on Friday, August 9, 2024.

The airline in its statement confirmed its “2283 – PS-VPB plane” had an accident.

It said, “the aircraft took off from Cascavel-PR bound for Guarulhos Airport, with 58 passengers and 4 crew members on board.

“VOEPASS has taken all measures to support those involved. There is still no confirmation of how the accident occurred or the current situation of the people on board.”

Brazilian broadcaster Globo TV further reported that, “the Superintendence of Technical-Scientific Police (SPTC), the Civil and Military Police are mobilised to rescue the victims. Teams from the Legal Medical Institute (IML) and those responsible for collecting bodies were also sent to reinforce the work”.
