Police Confirm Fresh Gunmen Attack In Owo
The police in Owo town, Ondo State, have confirmed an attack by gunmen, who stormed the city and shot at people.
The Ondo State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Funmi Odunlami, confirmed the incident, which she said took place in the evening of Wednesday, 27 July, at Folahami Junction, where a construction company, Craneburg Construction Company, is located.
According to her, the identity of the attackers, as well as their motive are yet to be ascertained, adding that three persons were injured in the incident.
“Tonight, there was a shooting incident at Craneburg Construction Company, Owo. Policemen are currently at the scene, victims have been taken to Hospital and they are in stable condition.
“We can not ascertain the casualty figure now and we also cannot say it was a terrorists’ attack with the use of explosives devices but tomorrow (Thursday) morning , the EOD men of the command would go to the scene,” Odunlami said, Wednesday night.

The attack, carried out by terrorists, had been described as a “massacre” and drew condemnation from both local and international organisations.
