Return Of $10,000: Dankade Deserves Commendation -Peter Obi

Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general election has stated that the integrity and honesty displayed by a young Nigerian, Auwalu Ahmed Dankade, who recently returned $10,000 he found while cleaning an aircraft should be commended.

Mr. Obi who posted this on his X handle on Saturday said, despite the harsh economic realities in the country, Dankade chose to toe the good path of nobility, integrity and honesty.

The Labour Party Stalwart said, “Such a display of integrity and honesty, as shown by him, demands commendation.

“Going by the harsh economic realities prevalent in the country, Auwalu Ahmed Dankade, faced with different choices of good and evil, chose to toe the good path of nobility, integrity and honesty”, he said.

The former governor of Anambra State noted that in his usual culture of celebrating exceptional Nigerians, he commended Dankade for his courageous show of honesty, adding that Nigerians like him always deserve to be celebrated as examples of honesty to the youths and the leaders.

“In a New Nigeria we are desiring to have, we will continue to promote such exemplary character and integrity among the people, as we build a nation of honest and responsible citizens. A New Nigeria is Possible”, he said.

Auwal Ahmed Dankode is an employee of the Nigeria Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano.
Dankode found the sum of $10,000 while cleaning an aircraft recently, and reported the matter to the management of his company, and search for the rightful owner was initiated.
This good gesture attracted a lot of commendations from notable persons in the country, with some calling on government to reward his honesty with Scholarship and National Honour.
