Nigerian record producer, Adelusola Adefemi, popularly known as Olakira has called on Nigerians to buy music instead of downloading it illegally.
The 31-year-old producer made this appeal at the listening party of ‘4Play’, his latest extended play (EP), on Friday.
He indicated that talented artists are leaving Nigeria because fans do not appreciate their efforts well enough.
He said:“I think we need to step up because that is why you see some of our artists going outside the country for performance and relocation,” he said.
“Nigeria is where talents are, we need to appreciate our people. It is not easy to go to the studio and record songs and get a hit.
“So Nigerians should please stream and buy songs, not download illegally because everything is still business”.
