The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved the posting of two Commissioners of Police (CPs) to the Lagos and Nasarawa State Police Commands.
A statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in the early hours of Wednesday, 13 December 2023 in Abuja, says the appointments are “effective immediately pending approval of the Police Service Commission”.
The newly posted senior Police Officers are CP Fayoade Adegoke Mustapha, who heads the Lagos State Command, and CP Umar Shehu Nadada, for the Nasarawa State Command. They have been charged with the responsibility to actively engage communities in their respective jurisdictions.
The Force says that the move is part of the ongoing efforts of the IGP to enhance security and build trust between law enforcement and the public, and assured that the newly posted senior officers, who are poised to contribute to the safety and well-being of the residents in their respective States, bring a wealth of experience to their new roles.
