”As a senator for 12 years, his wealth of experience was a guiding force in the National Assembly. Generations to come will remember him for always placing the progress and welfare of the people at the heart of his service,” the President says.

President Tinubu prays that Almighty God grants the departed statesman eternal rest.

On his part, former President Buhari expressed grief over the death of a founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), a former Senator who was the first civilian Governor of Yobe State.

In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, the former President said, “I am deeply saddened by the demise of Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim. I convey my deepest condolences to the family he left behind, and to the government and people of Yobe State.

“With his death, I have lost a friend whom I knew for decades, a political associate who shared my views on many issues. His insights and nuanced understanding of the people he governed had no parallels. May Allah forgive his shortcomings,” Buhari said.
