Kano APC Sanctions Ward Party Leaders Over Ganduje’s Suspension
By Sunday Etuka, Abuja
The State Working Committee of the Kano chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has sanctioned some ward party leaders in the state for suspending the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.
Dr. Ganduje was earlier suspended by the APC Ward leaders in Dawakin Tofa Local Government area over allegations of bribery and corruption.
Ganduje who was the former Governor of Kano State, was accused of diversion, and misappropriation of funds, including the purported acceptance of $413,000 and N1.38billion bribe.
However, in a swift reaction, the party’s local government officials reversed the suspension and sanctioned the ward executives.
The state working committee of the party sanctioned the ward leaders for six months, disclosing that a special investigations panel has been set up to verify several allegations against him.
Speaking on the development, the Kano APC chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, said, “We have evidence of meetings between the state government officials and those that suspended the National Chairman.
“The state working committee has agreed to sanction them for six months and they stand now suspended”, he said.
