The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general election, Mr. Peter Obi, has raised alarm over threats to his life, his family, and those around him.
Mr. Obi raised the alarm in a post on his X handle on Monday.
He said while he has received all sorts of messages, one Mr. Felix Morka took it further to accuse him of “crossing the line” and has warned him that he would face the consequences.
He alleged that the threat came following his World Press Conference on the State of the Nation.
The former governor of Anambra State urged Nigerians to rewatch the clip of the press conference to determine whether he truly crossed the line as alleged.
“If I have truly crossed the line, I invite anyone to point it out, as I remain committed to upholding decorum. However, I will not be silenced in my resolve to speak truthfully, especially as our nation continues to drift toward undemocratic practices,” he said.
According to him, the current administration is increasingly transforming into an authoritarian and repressive regime, where freedom of expression is being systematically suppressed.
“May God help us create a better and freer society for the sake of our children,” he wrote on the X.
