NAF Redeploys Senior Officers To Boost Efficiency

Newly appointed Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has approved the redeployment of several senior officers across key command, staff, and instructional positions.

Disclosing this on Friday, NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, described the redeployment as a strategic move aimed atenhancing operational effectiveness and aligning with the command philosophy of the newly appointed

According to him, the postings are part of efforts to strengthen leadership, optimise decision-making, and reinforce mission readiness in response to Nigeria’s evolving security landscape.

Among the new appointments, Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Abubakar Abdullahi becomes Chief of Policy and Plans, while AVM Adeniran Ademuwagun assumes duty as Commandant, Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Kaduna. AVM Ibitayo Ajiboye is now Group Managing Director, Nigerian Air Force Investment Limited (NAFIL) Group of Companies, with AVM Precious Amadi appointed Chief of Operations and AVM Nnamdi Ananaba as Chief of Air Intelligence.

In other key postings, AVM Ebimobo Ebiowe now serves as Superintendent of Standards and Evaluation, AVM Ahmed Dari as Chief of Training, and AVM Mohammed Ibrahim as Chief of Transformation and Innovation — a role reflecting NAF’s increasing focus on technology-driven efficiency.

In the engineering and logistics branches, AVM Olufemi Ogunsina has been named Chief of Aircraft Engineering, and AVM Michael Onyebashi assumes command as Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Mobility Command. AVM David Pwajok becomes Chief of Communication and Information Systems, while AVM John Ukeh is the new Air Provost Marshal.

Additionally, AVM Simon Peter is appointed Managing Director, NAFIL Housing and Construction Company; AVM Chidiebere Obiabaka becomes Air Secretary; AVM Anthony Martins, Chief of Administration; AVM Abubakar Sule, AOC Logistics Command; and AVM Abdulrasheed Kotun, Managing Director, NAF Farms. AVM Edward Gabkwet now serves as Chief of Civil-Military Relations, while AVM Osichinaka Ubadike has been named Deputy Commandant, AFIT.

Several other senior officers — including AVMs Ahmed Bakari, Albert Bot, Idi Sani, Muhammed Suleiman, Jibrin Usman, and Japheht Ekwuribe — have also been redeployed to key defence and inter-service establishments to further strengthen joint operations and national defence coordination.

“With these appointments, the Nigerian Air Force is set to consolidate its operational gains and usher in an era of smarter, more adaptive air power — one guided by the CAS’s vision of a force defined by purpose, protection, and progress”, the statement read.
