FAAN, MTN Nigeria Introduce Free Wi-Fi At Lagos, Abuja Airports

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced partnership with MTN Nigeria to launch free Wi-Fi services at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Terminal 2 and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

The service was officially inaugurated on Thursday at the Lagos airport by the Managing Director of FAAN, Olubunmi Kuku and MTN’s Chief Executive Officer, Karl Toriola.

Kuku, who was represented by the Director of Airport Operations, Abdullahi Mahmood, described the initiative as a major milestone in FAAN’s efforts to enhance passenger experience and strengthen digital infrastructure at Nigerian airports.

He said the partnership with MTN Nigeria demonstrated the impact of effective public-private collaboration in modernising critical national assets.

According to him, the provision of free and reliable internet access has become essential in today’s aviation environment, adding that the project aligns with the President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the reform drive of the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo.

Mahmood disclosed that the free Wi-Fi service would be extended to the MMIA temporary terminal and other international airports across the country within the next three months.

Toriola,who was represented by the Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Lynda Saint-Nwafor,assured airport users of a secure, efficient and reliable service, noting that MTN Nigeria remained committed to supporting digital connectivity and innovation in public infrastructure.

She commended FAAN for its collaboration and foresight in delivering the project.
