FCT Police Commission Two Outposts To Boost Community Policing

In a bid to enhance police visibility and strengthen grassroots security across the Federal Capital Territory, the Federal Capital Territory Police Command has commissioned two new police outposts and laid the foundation for another in Lugbe.

The FCT Command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh , stated this on Thursday.

According to her, Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, Miller G. Dantawaye, on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, commissioned two newly constructed police outposts located at the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ultra-Modern Shopping Complex, Lugbe, and the National Judicial Institute along Airport Road. He also laid the foundation for another outpost at T-Pumpy Estate in Lugbe area of the FCT.

The outposts were constructed and donated to the Command by the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the National Judicial Institute, and the management of T-Pumpy Estate to support policing efforts and improve security within their respective communities.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremonies, CP Dantawaye expressed appreciation to the donors for their partnership with the Nigeria Police Force in advancing community-based policing and strengthening the security architecture of the FCT.

He assured the donors and residents that the facilities would be effectively utilized to improve police response time to emergencies, enhance operational presence, and ensure the safety of residents and visitors in the affected areas.

The Commissioner further charged officers deployed to the outposts to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline and integrity in the discharge of their duties. He also urged them to remain courteous and responsive to members of the public while fostering strong relationships with the communities they serve.
