In a statement on Thursday by the Head, Corporate Communications and Media, Eniola Akinkuotu, the Commission revealed that it has identified 15 of such fake accounts across five platforms -Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok and has reported the matter to the appropriate authorities.

NUPRC clarified that Mrs. Eyesan maintains only one social media platform: a verified page on LinkedIn, noting that all other accounts purporting to represent her are fraudulent.

The Commission warned that the individuals behind the fake accounts are acting with the intent to defraud unsuspecting members of the public and urged them to immediately stop their activities.

“Anyone who interacts with these fake accounts does so at his or her own risk,” the NUPRC cautioned.

It advised the public to verify any communication claiming to originate from the Commission or its Chief Executive via its official website at nuprc.gov.ng.
