DisCos Generated ₦196.13Bn Revenue In March 2026- NERC

The eleven (11) electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos) in the country, generated a total sum of ₦196.13 billion in the month of March 2026.

The figure was contained in the March 2026 Commercial Performance Factsheet released on Tuesday by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).

The ₦196.13 billion revenue generated by the DisCos in March was higher than the ₦196.68billion collected by them in the month February 2026.

The NERC Factsheet revealed that out of the ₦293.76billion energy received by the DisCos, the total energy billed was ₦246.43billion, while the total revenue collected for the month of March was ₦196.13bn, indicating a 79.59% collection efficiency.

According to the report, the industry reached an overall Recovery Efficiency of 81.05%, up by 0.38% compared to the previous month.

It explained that out of the N124.30k allowed average tariff/kWh, the actual average collection/kWh was 100.75k, leading to an average recovery efficiency of 81.05% across all DisCos.

The report disclosed that Ikeja (99.30%), Eko (95.73%), and Benin (85.18%) DisCos stood out with the highest recovery efficiency levels for March.

These figures, according to the report, gave a clear picture of how effectively DisCos are billing, collecting, and recovering revenue -key indicators for strengthening liquidity and improving service delivery across the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).
