Troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE have rescued two kidnapped victims in separate operations in Plateau State as they intensified efforts to disrupt terrorist and criminal activities across the state.
The Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Operation ENDURING PEACE, Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, saying the operations were part of sustained efforts to deny criminal elements freedom of action in the state.
Oteh said troops of Sector 3, acting on credible intelligence, rescued Mr Ndubuisi Onuigbo at about 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, in Bassa Local Government Area, shortly after receiving information about his abduction.
Similarly, troops of Sector 2, deployed at Kukawa Village in Kanam LGA, encountered suspected terrorists during a fighting patrol in the early hours of Wednesday. The troops pursued the fleeing suspects, forcing them to abandon and flee from the area, while a kidnapped victim, Mallam Sambo Abdullahi, was rescued.
The two victims were debriefed and subsequently reunited with their families.
The Commander, Operation ENDURING PEACE, Major General Maxwell Dangana, commended the troops for their professionalism and decisive action in disrupting criminal activities and restoring security across the Joint Operations Area.
He urged residents to remain calm and vigilant while appealing for continued public support and timely information to enable the troops to effectively discharge their mandate.
