Troops Arrest Suspected Kidnapper, Rescue Abducted Victim In Nasarawa, Benue

Troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS), have arrested a suspected kidnapper and rescued an abducted victim in separate intelligence-driven operations in Nasarawa and Benue states.
The task force said in a statement on Sunday that troops of Sector 2 arrested the suspect, identified as Adamu Lamu, at Agyaragu, Nasarawa State, on September 4, following an alert by a 31-year-old kidnapping victim, Nehemiah Elisha, who escaped from his abductors and later spotted the suspect at a market.
Elisha alerted troops deployed in the area, leading to the suspect’s swift arrest. Lamu was subsequently handed over to the Nigeria Police for further investigation and prosecution.
In Benue, troops of COAS Intervention Battalion XI on September 6 rescued Vincent Nyado, who was found tied and abandoned along the Umene–Torkula Road. The victim was allegedly abducted by suspected terrorists, who fled into nearby bushes upon sighting the approaching troops.
The rescued victim has been secured while troops intensify efforts to gather information and track the fleeing suspects. OPWS also urged residents to provide timely and credible information to security agencies to support ongoing operations against criminal elements across the region.
