Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, will miss out of Nigeria’s upcoming AFCON 2027 qualifying matches against Madagascar and Guinea Bissau as he recovers from a muscle strain.
The Super Eagles announced the news through their official X account, confirming that the forward remains sidelined during his recovery period.
The statement read: “Victor Osimhen will miss Nigeria’s AFCON 2027 qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea Bissau as he continues to recover from a muscle strain. We wish Victor a speedy recovery.”
The injury means the Galatasaray forward will be absent for both crucial fixtures.
Nigeria’s team management has wished him a swift return to fitness and expressed continued support throughout his recovery.
With Osimhen unavailable, the national team’s coaching staff will need to turn to other forwards to fill the attacking void for these qualifiers.
