The Coalition of APC Support Groups National Coordinators has appealed for strategic partnerships, institutional support and sustainable funding to strengthen its structures and grassroots programmes as the country heads toward the 2027 general elections.
The appeal was made in Abuja when the Coalition’s national executive members paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the National Assembly Library Trust Fund (NALTF) and Deputy Director of Protocols, APC Presidential Campaign Council, Rt. Hon. Henry Nwawuba.
Leading the delegation, the National Convener of the Coalition, Comrade Richard M. Onyebuwa, used the visit to outline the organisation’s vision and objectives while seeking guidance on strengthening relationships with key stakeholders.
Onyebuwa, in a statement by the National Director, Media and Publicity, Coalition of APC Support Groups National Coordinators, Sophina Ovuike,said the Coalition was formed to provide a coordinated platform for APC support groups and their national coordinators, aimed at strengthening grassroots structures and promoting effective coordination among member organisations.
He added that the group was equally keen on forging strategic partnerships to boost its capacity for grassroots engagement, leadership development and other programmes.
Responding, Nwawuba welcomed the delegation and commended its leadership for working toward a more coordinated organisational structure.
He urged the Coalition to build a credible and sustainable framework, emphasizing that strategic relationships and partnerships would be key to achieving its goals.
He also touched on political developments ahead of the 2027 general elections, expressing support for efforts tied to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
Nwawuba specifically encouraged the Coalition to explore collaboration with the Tinubu Support Group (TSG), led by Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, noting that cooperation among established support structures could open up opportunities for stronger coordination and organisational growth.
He further advised the Coalition to seek out legitimate and sustainable funding sources to support its activities.
Also speaking, the National Director-General, Presidential Campaign Council, Coalition of APC Support Groups National Coordinators, Hon. AlHassan Mohammed Baba, thanked Nwawuba for receiving the delegation and for his guidance during the engagement.
Delivering the vote of thanks on behalf of the Coalition, Baba said the observations and advice shared would be carefully considered as the organisation continues developing its structures and stakeholder relationships.
The Coalition described the visit as part of its broader effort to build ties with key stakeholders and develop a coordinated network of APC support-group leaders nationwide.
The meeting closed on a cordial note with a group photograph, at Nwawuba’s request, due to other official commitments.
The Coalition said it would continue engaging relevant stakeholders as it develops its programmes and grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 political season.
