Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu has approved the posting of new Police Public Relations Officers (PPROs) and Public Relations Liaison Officers to selected commands and formations of the Nigeria Police Force.
According to a statement issued on Friday by the Force spokesman, CSP Ani Iniedu, the move is to strengthen public communication, improve access to credible information and enhance media relations.
Under the new postings, SP Johnson A. Doghudje has been assigned to Zone 5 and can be reached on 08038773657, while SP Ojedele Olanrewaju Tunji has been posted to Zone 11, Osogbo, with the contact number 09152481510.
Others are DSP Orchia Adndongu, posted to the Benue State Police Command (07013495466); DSP Imah Unwana Victor, assigned to the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (08038281577); and ASP Abdulaziz Maharazu, posted to the Police Academy (POLAC) (07064684936).
Also posted are ASP Yusuf Adamu Aliyu to the Yobe State Police Command (08136394230) and ASP Haruna Rashid Umar Abdullahi as Public Relations Liaison Officer for the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Gombe State (08130313033).
The IGP charged the officers to uphold professionalism, accuracy and responsiveness while ensuring the timely dissemination of verified information and constructive engagement with the media and the public.
The statement urged journalists and members of the public to contact the respective officers for verified information and enquiries about police activities within their areas of responsibility.
The Nigeria Police Force said the postings formed part of its commitment to promoting transparency, effective communication and people-centred policing.
