The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has informed the public of a forced outage on the Ajah/Lekki 330kV transmission line, which has affected customers of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC).
TCN, in a Public Notice on Wednesday, said the incident began at 12:40pm on Tuesday, when the Ajah 330/132/33kV Transmission Substation lost supply on the Egbin to Ajah 330kV Transmission Lines 1 and 2 because of a system disturbance.
It said after supply was restored following the disturbance, the Ajah to Lekki 330kV Transmission Line tripped again at 5:02pm due to a three-phase-to-ground fault on Zone 1 protection.
The company said the line was subsequently patrolled and restored at 6:50pm on October 20. However, the GIS circuit breaker at the Lekki Transmission Substation could not be closed because of pole discordance.
TCN said its engineers are working diligently to resolve the issue and bring the line back into service as soon as possible.
The company apologised to Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) customers affected by the outage for any inconvenience caused.
