By Alice Etuka, Abuja

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board Retirees Association (JRA) have
promised to rally support for JAMB Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina to take the Board to her zenith.

This was contained in JAMB weekly bulletin published on Monday.

The Forum of Retirees, otherwise known as “Senior Citizens”, on Tuesday, 20th October 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Registrar to congratulate, as well as introduce the forum to him, while assuring him of their readiness to provide institutional and advisory role whenever called upon.

In an address delivered by the President of JRA, Mr. Ibrahim Abdulkadir, who was represented by former Director of Admissions, Mrs. Ann Momoh, commended the various initiatives taken by the Registrar, his synergy with former Registrars and stakeholders, his quest for ISO certification, and staff welfare, among others.

Mr. Maska also requested the Registrar to grant the forum a letter of no objection so as to facilitate its registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

In his remarks, the Registrar commended the forum for the visit and assured the delegation of the Board’s willingness to tap from their wealth of experience as well as engage with it whenever the need arose.

On the request for a letter of no objection, the Registrar pointed out that the sanctity of the hard-earned image of the Board matters and should be jealously guided more so that all its activities are being regulated by the Federal Ministry of Education.

He also expressed reservation on the unanimity of the members going forward as the propensity to have dissenting voices could not be totally discounted. He, therefore, urged the forum to involve its legal team in the conversation.

He stated that, personally, he identifies with the group as an individual, but the position of the Board was to take a critical look at the proposed framework of the association.

He, therefore, informed the forum that the decision of the Board would be communicated to it in due course after necessary consultations.
