Adamawa Police Recover Stolen Vehicle, Arrest Suspect

Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have a suspect for cheating and being in possession of a stolen vehicle.

The Command’s public relations officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, in a statement on Tuesday, gave the identity of the suspect as one Mubarak Abdulkadiri, a resident of Shagari, Yola South LGA.

According to Nguroje, on Saturday, 1st February 2025, Ahmed Salihu, a manager of Two Star Filling Station in Mubi, reported that the suspect came to his fuelling station and bought petrol worth ₦97,850, and also collected an additional ₦10,000 cash under false pretence, pretending to pay through Point Of Sale (POS).

However, once served, the suspect fled in a Honda CRV with foreign registration number HJ 58 URU.

Following a swift response by officers attached to Divisional police Headquarters, Mubi North, the suspect was
arrested at Mubi Toll Gate.

During investigation he was unable to provide satisfactory explanation for the vehicle’s ownership as there was no document to prove ownership or justify his claims and determine the true ownership.

The Adamawa State Police Command has urged anyone with a rightful claim to visit the Divisional police Headquarters, Mubi North with valid proof of ownership or contact the command’s PRO for further inquiries.
