PSC, Police Fix March 9 For Constable Screening

The Police Service Commission (PSC) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) will begin physical and credential screening for applicants in the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 police constables from March 9, 2026.

In a statement issued Tuesday in Abuja by PSC spokesman, Torty Njoku Kalu, candidates who successfully completed the online registration are to undergo screening between March 9 and April 18, 2026, at designated centres across the states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Applicants have been advised to log on to the recruitment portal — npfapplication.psc.gov.ng — to confirm their status and print the required documents ahead of their scheduled screening date.

The documents to be presented at the venue include the Guarantors Form, Application Submission Slip, Invitation Slip, Credential Screening Form and Physical Screening Form.

Candidates are also expected to present the following items: Invitation Slip (with assigned table); Credential Screening Form; Original National Identity Number (NIN) printout or card issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC); O’ Level (GCE/SSCE) certificate; Birth certificate or declaration of age; LGA/State of Origin certificate; Trade test certificate (for specialists only); Duly completed and signed Guarantors Form with attached photocopies and passport photographs of referees.

Applicants are to package original and duplicate copies of their credentials in two separate white flat files, each accompanied by recent passport photographs.

The statement further directed candidates to appear at their screening venues dressed in white canvas shoes, white T-shirts, white shorts and white stockings.

The Chairman, Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (rtd), mni, reiterated that the recruitment exercise is absolutely free of charge and does not require any form of payment.

He assured that the process would be conducted transparently and warned applicants to beware of impostors and scammers seeking to exploit the exercise, stressing that anyone caught defrauding candidates would be arrested and prosecuted.
