Benue Gov. Alia Appoints Agena Rector, Akawe Torkula Polytechnic

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia has approved the appointment of Dr. Martins Moses Agena as Rector of Akawe Torkula Polytechnic, Makurdi.

This was announced in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula on Friday.

According to the statement, Agena, a Development Communication Scholar hails from Guma Local Government Area. Before his appointment, he was a lecturer with the Federal College of Education Zaria.

The statement said, he also served as Special Assistant to the immediate past Executive Secretary, Nigeria Shippers’ Council, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Jime.

“With his huge experience in the academic environment, it is the belief of His Excellency that Agena will be able to change the fortunes of the Polytechnic for good”, it added.

While congratulating him, the statement said, Gov. Alia expressed the hope that as one who has been part of his Divine Mandate project from the onset, and is well abreast of the vision and mission of his administration, Agena would hit the ground running after taking over affairs at the institution.
