The Borno state Police Command has conducted a medical outreach program at Mashimami Barracks, in Maiduguri, the state capital.
In a statement on Monday, the Command’s spokesperson, ASP Nahum Daso, disclosed that the outreach is part of Police community engagement and also underscores the humanitarian effort of the national POWA President Dr. Mrs Elizabeth Egbetokun, who donated relief materials and medications to flood affected victims in Borno.
TheFact Daily gathers that the outreach is estimated to support over 500 residents, including vulnerable community members with such services as free medical consultations, health screenings (blood pressure, blood glucose, malaria), distribution of medical supplies and relief materials, enlightenment on disaster risk reduction, prevention and response, and hygiene and sanitation education.
The Command, while reiterating its commitment to ensuring public safety called on members of the public, especially residents within Mashimami Barracks, to take advantage of the medical outreach program and access free medical services.
