BREAKING: EFCC Declares Ex-Kogi Governor, Yahaya Bello Wanted

By Anne Osemekeh, Abuja

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared erstwhile Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, wanted.

The embattled governor is wanted in connection with an alleged case of money laundering to the tune of N80.2bn.

The anti-graft agency’s operatives’ attempt yesterday to arrest him at his 9, Benghazi Street Zone 4, Wuse, Abuja residence was hampered by the presence of tight security and the interference of the current Governor of Kogi State, Usman Ododo, who ensured that the suspect was spirited away in his official vehicle.

Bello was absent from court for his arraignment on Thursday.
