Nigeria’s headline inflation rate slowed to 15.43% in July 2026, down from 15.91% in June, according to the latest report from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), continuing a sharp decline from the 24.94% recorded in July 2025.
The figures show inflation dropped by 0.48 percentage points month-on-month at the annual level, while the month-on-month inflation rate -which measures the change in prices from June to July alone- stood at 1.57%, itself 0.09% percentage points lower than June’s 1.66%.
The NBS said this indicates prices rose at a slower pace in July than they did the previous month.
