New Cross River CP Vows Zero Tolerance For Corruption

The new Police Commissioner for the Cross River state Command, CP Olusegun Omosanyin, has reiterated the Commands commitment to eradicating corruption within the Force.

The state Command’s spokesperson, SP Ugbo Irene, disclosed this on Friday, through a post on their X handle @CRS PoliceNG.

CP Omosanyin who resumed duty on Wednesday 27th March 2025 as the 47th Police Chief in the state, urged all officers to remain diligent and uphold the highest standards of professionalism.

He called for policing practices that are guided by equity, justice, and fairness, aiming to foster a positive relationship between the police and the community.

Another critical area pivotal to enhancing the efficiency and integrity of the police force in the state, he said, is adherence to fundamental human rights. CP Omosanyin stressed the need for all officers to respect and protect the human rights of the citizens they serve, ensuring that law enforcement is conducted with integrity and fairness.

Policing, he said, must put on a human face, along with strategic planning and visibility policing. He emphasized the importance of effective planning and the need for officers to be visible and accessible to the public, ensuring a proactive approach to crime prevention and community engagement.

With regards to illegal detention, CP Omosanyin emphasized the importance of upholding the law, stating that illegal detention of individuals is unacceptable and must be strictly avoided.

The CP urged all officers to exhibit professional conduct, remain dedicated to their duties, and demonstrate unwavering commitment to the overall interest of the Force and the Cross River State Command.
