Comply With Regulations Or Face Sanctions, NCAA Tells Airline Operators

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority(NCAA) has reminded
remind airlines operating in the country that failure to comply with regulations will attract serious penalties.

NCAA’S Director Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Micheal Achimugu stated this on Thursday on his verified X handle.

The authority said it has instructed its officers across airports in the country to report defaulters.

Achimugu tweeted that,”We have instructed NCAA Consumer Protection Officers at the terminals not to chase airlines to do the right thing anymore.

“Just monitor their operations and report to HQ, and we will take action in line with Part 19 of the NCAA Regulations 2023,” he said.

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations Part 19 deals with passengers rights and responsibilities and airlines’ obligations to passengers.

It addresses consumer protection issues, including, compensations for denied boarding, delays and cancellations of flights.
