The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd.) has called for continued national support, prayers, and unity in backing the Armed Forces of Nigeria in the fight against insecurity across the country.
General Musa made the appeal on Tuesday, while receiving the General Overseer of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, Lazarus Muoka, during a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Defence Headquarters in Abuja.
The minister said tackling insurgency, banditry, terrorism, and other criminal activities requires a whole-of-society approach, stressing that moral support and prayers from religious organisations continue to boost the morale of troops deployed in various operational theatres nationwide.
He commended Pastor Muoka and members of the church for their support for Nigeria’s security institutions, reaffirming the commitment of the Armed Forces to protecting the country’s territorial integrity and safeguarding lives and property.
General Musa also urged religious leaders to continue promoting peace, patriotism, and national unity, noting that faith-based organisations have a vital role in supporting national security efforts.
In his remarks, Pastor Muoka assured the minister of the church’s continued support for the Armed Forces and the Federal Government, while offering prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Nigerian troops.
The visit featured an exchange of souvenirs and reaffirmed collaboration between the Ministry of Defence and the Christian community in advancing national peace and security.
