
Eight families of deceased police officers in Kano state have received the sum of N4,400,000 under the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Family Welfare Initiative.
The Kano state Police Command’s spokesperson, Nafiu Abubakar, disclosed on Wednesday, that the presentation of the sums are part of efforts to ensure the welfare of the families of deceased police officers and to boost the morale of the serving ones to do more in the ongoing onslaught against banditry and other heinous crimes in the State.
Presenting the cheques at the State Headquarters in Birnin Kebbi, the Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Sani, who was represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police Administration, DCP Aminu Babale, advised the beneficiaries to utilize the token optimally for the benefits of the entire family members by doing something substantial in solving their immediate problems and seeing to the progress of their academic career.
He equally prayed for the souls of the departed officers to have an eternal rest and for fortitude for their immediate families and friends to bear the irreparable loss.
At the end of the event, one Kamal Abubakar, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries who were full of joy, praised and appreciated the IGP’s kind gesture and magnanimity towards them and prayed that the Almighty Allah continues to increase him, the Commissioner of Police, and Officers and men of the Kebbi State Police Command, with more health, wealth, wisdom and strength to pilot the affairs of the Nigeria Police Force effectively.
