Fire Service Promotes 1,680 Officers, Upgrades Four

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has approved the promotion of 1, 680 and Conversion/Upgrade of four Officers of the Service.

National PRO, Federal Fire Service, ACF Paul Abraham who disclosed the development in a statement on Thursday said, the officers were promoted having fulfilled the conditions for promotion and advancement.

He said, in view of that, the Controller General, Jaji Abdulganiyu decorated 73 senior Officers who were promoted from Superintendents to Chief Superintendents of Fire at the Service Headquarters, all of whom are currently serving at Commands within the FCT.

According to the statement, Engr. Jaji expressed utmost appreciation to the Minister of Interior, Dr. Tunji Olubunmi-Ojo who also doubles as the Chairman of the Board, and other members of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board for their salient roles in the upgrading of his Officers, says the elevation is of great significance to his administration.

The statement said, the CGF, advised them to brace up for higher responsibilities and challenges and assured the officers’ wives of empowerment to help them be at par with wives of officers from sister agencies.

It said, Engr. Jaji also added that henceforth promotion shall be based on prequalification obtained by passing specified training tests relative to each grade level and discipline.
