Gov. Alia Congratulates Nigerians On 66th Independence Anniversary

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, congratulates the people of Benue State and all Nigerians on the occasion of the nation’s 66th Independence Anniversary.

In a statement on Thursday by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, the Governor described the milestone as an opportunity to reflect on the country’s journey, celebrate the resilience of its people and renew our commitment to the ideals of freedom, unity, peace and development.

He said the meaning of independence goes beyond political freedom, stressing that it also includes the freedom of citizens to participate responsibly in governance and contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities.

The Governor stressed that the journey towards a stronger Benue and a better Nigeria requires collective effort, patience and responsible citizenship.

He therefore appealed to the people to remain united and support governments at all levels in their efforts to deliver development, while continuing to offer constructive suggestions.

“On this Independence Anniversary, I warmly thank the good people of Benue State for your unwavering support, prayers and belief in our shared vision for a better Benue. Your trust means a great deal to us, and it continues to inspire us to serve with greater dedication, especially in challenging times.

“I appeal to you to continue to support and cooperate with our administration, the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress. With your partnership, we can build on the progress we have made, confront our challenges together and create a Benue where every citizen can live with dignity, hope and a genuine sense of belonging.

“Let us continue to stand together in unity, peace and love for our state and our country. May God bless the people of Benue, bless Nigeria, preserve our unity and lead us towards a future of greater peace, prosperity and shared progress.”

He wished all Nigerians a happy 66th Independence Anniversary.
