Jubilation As Robert Francis Prevost Emerges Pope, First American In Vatican History

Forty eight hours after literal ecclesiastical agitation, a new Pope has been elected to shepherd over 1. 4 billion Catholic faithful across the world.

He is Robert Francis Prevost, to named Pope Leo X1V, the first American to assume the Papacy in the history of the Roman Catholic Church, which was founded by St. Peter, the first Pope, acting on the Command of Jesus Christ (Matthew 16: 18).

BIOGRAPHY

Born on September 14, 1955, Robert Francis Prevost, was the Bishop of Chiclayo in Peru from 2015 to 2023. He was made a cardinal in 2023 by Pope Francis. He was born in Chicago, Illinois.

A strong advocate for the poor and migrants, he shares Pope Francis’s commitment to meeting people where they are.

Also known for his humility and reserved nature, Pope Leo XIV is expected to continue the consultative approach of his immediate predecessor, whose pro-poor inclination enjoys a pride of place in global history.

Having risen to the ecclesiastical position of Superior-General of Augustinians, the Catholic Church, and the world in general, may witness increased prayers and selfless service the Church and world.
